Flavorful, interesting cuisine worth a stop for those who have never tried this type of cuisine. The space gives me modern nomadic vibes. Service is a touch slow, but you can order at your table by scanning with the QR code and when they do come over they give excellent recommendations. We ordered the chicken plate (which tasted like a really good Dapanghi to me), some other hand pulled noodles with beef and sesame that were exceptional, and topped it off with some rich and not overly earthy lamb skewers. I was impressed; yes the food is heavy, but that's a hallmark of this type of cuisine, and yes it's more expensive than your typical whole in the wall, but the space is nice and the portions are generous with meat. Try this out you won't be sorry.
My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner! The special tea was delicious with a lovely blend of aromatics. I really liked my eggplant dish- which was made deliciously extra spicy per my request. My friends devoured the laghman and korma chop. The naan was the only disappointment, but to be fair, not surprising as they don't have a tandoori oven. Pistachio baklava was a surprisingly tasty and satisfying dessert! Plenty of seating inside with friendly service. It's in a trader Joe shopping plaza so parking may be tight at times.
I Ordered Their Korma Chop Noodles They Are So Amazing Is One Of My Fav Restaurants Beautiful Restaurant Inside As Well They Got The Best Uyghur Food Totally Recomend This Amazing Place
Very good food I come here every week Nice service nice waiter. I like the environment and food is delicious. I would recommend all of you come here to eat.
I ordered lunches to go many times from this restaurant and tried several dishes on the menu. My favourites are lamb kebab, beef soup and polo. My wife who is vegetarian enjoys eggplants and celery salads. I always have a bit of them too. Recently I celebrated my birthday there and the food was even better on site. I wanted my friends to discover a taste of Central Asia and they seemed to like it too. They enjoyed the Manti and kebab the most. The atmosphere was very nice and the service was great.
The food here has such great flavor profiles and is so delicately cooked. There isn't too much salt but the spices used (primarily cumin it taste like) give very earthy grounded tones. Polo 5/5 looks very simple but the textures of this dish are so fun to eat. Lamb is soft and flavorful and you really get the pull from the chew. Taranchi Lachman 4/5 it's a great dish though compared to the polo feels it lacks a bang. Also the dish itself is a bit hard to eat since the noodles are so long and the ingredients are so small that it's difficult to get everything into a good bite. I wanna try the rice version and think that would be better Cucumber with garlic 3/5 pretty good but just gets boring after a while! Naan 5/5 great naan, dense and fun to dip into the Lachman.
tl,dr: exotic Uyghur cuisine experience! Likes: + I love how we have the opportunity here for some exotic Turkish-Chinese cuisine amidst the bustling community of Irvine. + Everything tasted excellent and interesting! + Marvelous cultural interior decor. + The staff can speak Russian. They understood when I said Good day, Excuse me, and Thank you in Russian. One of these days I gotta try the Chef's Special: Uyghur Style Whole Lamb Kebab worth $598.00! Thank my good Kyrgyz friend for introducing me to this restaurant. He said the food of this place was the closest to Kyrgyz cuisine in town.
Nicely decorated space, large seating area with plenty of tables and a corner where you can see them baking. For the 3 of us we ordered (and had leftovers): Laghman (hand cut noodles with beef)...very tasty, preferred the chunks of meat over the other noodle which would have been minced beef Ughyur polo (traditional braised rice with lamb)...flavorful rice that has absorbed the lamb and spices flavors was the highlight! Could have used a little more meat Roasted lamb leg ...was good to add on to the rice above that didn't have enough lamb, flavor was similar though so for the price probably would have ordered the Cumin lamb or Big plate chicken (unfortunately I had a sore throat and was avoiding spicy foods) Samsa...pastry dough was flaky and not too oily, ground beef seemed slightly overcooked though Dolans special tea...fragrant tea served in Turkish style cups, pretty! Definitely want to come back and try some of their other dishes!
Such a nice change of scenery and food option in Irvine. The food tasted very authentic packed with tons of flavor We got the fried naan with beef and you can really taste the cumin with every bite. Unfortunately we split this just the two of us and it was a bit too heavy/oily so we took it home. Recommend if you split maybe 4 way. The korma chop noodles had a bouncy texture and I appreciated the thinly sliced vegetables so you can enjoy every bite with a good ratio.
